You can certainly increase these rates by paying for an ad on Google Maps which makes your listing stand out when people are looking at your section of the map. However, from what I've observed a lot of people click it out of curiosity rather than genuine need.Benhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06013601745020495882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293287938012761834.post-73949844858779860242008-11-21T17:46:00.000+11:002008-11-21T17:46:00.000+11:00I have just noticed that the YellowPages results s...I have just noticed that the YellowPages results seem to be coming up in Google's search engine and have a fairly high ranking (eg only 2 spots beneath our main page for some searches).Benhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06013601745020495882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293287938012761834.post-37849245643678347292008-11-11T09:39:00.000+11:002008-11-11T09:39:00.000+11:00I found this article which does describe a simple ...I found this article which does describe a simple method of tracking the Google Maps generated traffic. I haven't tried it yet but I can't see any reason it wouldn't work. You'd just have to look up the results in Analytics. Alternatively, you could use a different URL/landing page that is unique to people coming from Google Maps.

http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2008/11/10/tracking-local-search-results/Benhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06013601745020495882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293287938012761834.post-31244905091147027552008-11-10T12:57:00.000+11:002008-11-10T12:57:00.000+11:00Hi Ben - pleased to see you assessing the value of...Hi Ben - pleased to see you assessing the value of Sensis and Google's agreement.

The benefit for Yellow advertisers is having their listing available to more people in more places. So early next year, their listings will be available on Google Maps at no extra cost to them.

The benefit to users of Google Maps is they will have access to Yellow's listings - the most comprehensive business directory in the country.

Hope that helps.

SteveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
